Gusty wind roared at the empty street, my hairs swayed violently. Oh! What a sight it was for my eyes to bear, the last leaf from the brown tree fell silently. By the time the wind stopped its baneful act the macadam was full of brown green and yellow leaves. As the sun went down in the west, the brown tree stood as giant wreckage. My heart is like a sponge so I wept a little and mourned the sorrows of the tree.
The picture of the tree when it was full of green leaves and yellow flowers came alive in front of my eyes. Days and nights made me feel may be the long awaited death of this old tree was near. The tree grew weaker and weaker I thought it had a hollow trunk or may be A hollow heart that doesn't want to build the spirit to stay alive. On a great day my restless eyes discovered a bird Sitting on a lopped branch. She sang in a painful tone. Her voice shivered with passion. It was as if she intoned the tales of her reminiscent past, her sweet times on the green branches of the brown tree. It was as if she couldn't witness her fondest tree nearing endurance. She wept her fury and thousand natural shocks. She sang till the day her powerful voice made clouds bend to earth. Torrential rains poured on callous dry ground, thunders scared me; it was as if they were playing trumpets of doom. Oh! Lord I prayed " not for the sake of the tree, not for the sake of me, not for the sake of the birds plight, not for the sake of her fight. I don't beg you to give her power to bear what you have given her, Please don't break her faith, save the tree". The bird sang the whole night, breathlessly she sang. The degree of pain in her voice grew more and more finally my restless night ended when sun shined in the east. It was a fest for my eyes to see a dry branch turn green but soon my eyes were wet and a held moist breath came out of my mouth, fear hugged me tight. Those were the bitterest tears I have ever shed. An acute pain was caged in my heart forever when I saw that little bird lay dumb on the ground struck by a stony silence. It was the death of passion for the cause of an undying faith.
